At the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, August 5, 2000, at 8:00 p.m., The Pasadena Symphony will collaborate with the Oratorio Society of Utah in the world premiere of Symphony of Tears by Jeff Manookian, commemorating the 1915 Armenian Genocide. Mezzo-contralto Doris Brunatti and boy soprano Mitchell Prettyman will join the combined forces of The Pasadena Symphony and the Oratorio Society of Utah, all under the direction of the composer. In addition, the ensemble will perform Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy and Manookian’s Improvisations on Armenian Folk Songs.
